After all his denials and talk of loyalty to his club Manuel Pellegrini has announced that he is leaving Malaga at the end of the season. The 59 year old Chilean made the announcement at an awards ceremony this week and ends weeks of speculation over his future. He will now take over from Roberto Mancini at Manchester City.
This season he led Malaga to the quarter finals of the Champions League and they were unlucky to lose out to Borussia Dortmund. In his time he has also coached at Real Madrid and Villarreal. He will take charge of Malaga for the last time this Sunday. After that its Malaga to Manchester.
Read more >>After the limp start to the Championship last week it’s a clash of the heavyweights this Sunday with All Ireland Champions Donegal testing their skills against Tyrone in Ballybofey.
Ever since the draw was made this is the game everyone has been talking about. Since their All Ireland success Donegal have had a poor enough league. Patchy form saw them relegated on the final day whilst Tyrone went on to play in the league final losing narrowly to Dublin. On reflection it was a game Tyrone should have won.
Read more >>Group One jockey Eddie Ahern has been banned for ten years by the British Horseracing Authority. Ahern has been found guilty on three counts of conspiring to commit a corrupt or fraudulent practice, intentionally failing to ensure a horse was ridden on its merits and of passing information for reward. The 35 year old says he is devastated with the decision and says he intends to fight both the findings and the penalties.
In his time Ahern has won over 1000 races including Royal Ascot and a treble at Glorious Goodwood.
