More Doping Scandal

The Goldolphin stable has been caught up in yet more scandal with the confirmation that seven more of its horses were given steroids. The list includes the 2012 St Leger Winner Encke. The horses were under the control of disgraced trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni and that will be a relief to owner Sheikh Mohammed. His stable is one of the biggest in the world and the scandal has rocked the sport. He will hope this is the end of it all.

Al Zarooni was handed an eight year suspension from the sport but he is in the process of appealing.

Dawn Run for Epsom

It’s been confirmed that unbeaten 2000 Guineas winner Dawn Approach will run in the Epsom Derby on June 1st. The decision was taken after talks between co owners Sheikh Mohammed and JIm Bolger after his five length victory in the first classic of the season. He is already short odds for the race. It was the first appearance at a British track for Sheikh Mohammed since the drugs controversy with the Godolphin stable.
