Manuel Pellegrini has been named as the new boss at Manchester City. The move has long been expected and the 59 year old takes over from Roberto Mancini who was sacked in May. The Chilean has signed a three year with City after quitting Malaga at the end of the Spanish season.
He brought Malaga to the quarter finals of the Champions League this year and is highly regarded as a coach. The back room staff will join him from Malaga. Brian Kidd who was Assistant Manager to Mancini will remain a part of the coaching staff at City.
Pellegrini praised Mancini for all his work with City and said he was delighted to be joining such a fantastic club.

Mark Hughes is the new boss at Stoke City. The former QPR manager has signed a three year deal to replace Tony Pulis who left the club last week by mutual consent. Pulis had been at Stoke for seven years. Stoke say they had many enquiries about the post but thought that Hughes was the correct choice. He was sacked by QPR six months ago with a record that is hardly inspiring. Eleven wins out of 34 games is hardly the stuff to write home about.
